From Sheikhupura to the Digital World: The Journey of a Young Pakistani Girl

Every journey begins somewhere. Mine began in Sheikhupura, Pakistan, with dreams that were much bigger than the circumstances around me.

I am a young girl pursuing my BS in English Literature, while simultaneously building my career in the digital world as a Digital Marketer, UI/UX Designer, and Article & Blog Writer. My journey has not always been easy. Like many young people trying to build a future, I am learning, struggling, failing, improving, and trying again every day.

But I believe that struggling for your dreams is better than living without them.

A Girl With More Than One Dream

When I started studying English Literature, I discovered more than just books and poetry. Literature taught me how to understand people, analyze ideas, communicate effectively, and look at the world from different perspectives.

At the same time, I became interested in the rapidly growing digital world.

I wanted to learn skills that could help me become independent and create opportunities for myself. This curiosity led me toward digital marketing and UI/UX design.

Today, I am building myself in multiple fields—not because I cannot choose one path, but because I believe that modern careers allow us to combine different skills and create our own unique identity.

My Journey into UI/UX Design

One of the fields that has particularly captured my interest is UI/UX design. I have learned this skill from IEC(Institute of emerging careers)

I enjoy turning ideas into digital experiences. From creating user flows and wireframes to designing interfaces in Figma, I am constantly learning how design can make technology easier, more useful, and more enjoyable for people.

For me, UI/UX is not simply about making a screen look beautiful.

It is about asking:

Who is going to use this? What problem are they facing? How can I make their experience easier?

This mindset has shaped the way I approach my projects.

I have worked on different UI/UX concepts, including mobile applications, websites, and portfolio projects. Each project teaches me something new and helps me improve as a designer.

I am also exploring freelancing as a UI/UX designer, where I hope to work with clients, understand their needs, and turn their ideas into meaningful digital products.

Learning the World of Digital Marketing

Alongside UI/UX, I am developing my skills in digital marketing. I learned this skill from NAVTCC

I have been learning about areas such as SEO, keywords, content marketing, social media marketing, Google Ads, backlinks, local SEO, and digital strategies.

Digital marketing interests me because it combines creativity with strategy.

A beautiful website needs visitors. A great product needs the right audience. And good content needs a strategy to reach the people who need it.

I want to understand not only how to design something, but also how to help it reach the right audience.

My Work as a Writer

Writing has become another important part of my journey.

I am currently working with Infolopia as an article and blog writer, where I get the opportunity to research different topics and turn information into engaging content.

My background in English Literature has helped me develop my writing, critical thinking, and communication skills. I enjoy researching topics, organizing ideas, and presenting information in a way that readers can understand.

For me, writing is not just putting words together.

Writing is a way of connecting an idea with another human being.

Whether I am writing about technology, history, digital marketing, current issues, or other topics, I want my content to be informative, meaningful, and easy to read.

The Reality Behind the Journey

Behind every skill on a CV is a story that people do not always see.

There are days when I feel confident about my future, and there are days when I question whether I am doing enough.

There are moments when learning something new feels exciting, and there are moments when it feels overwhelming to balance university, career development, freelancing, writing, and personal life.

But I continue.

I remind myself that I do not need to have everything figured out at the age of 21.

I only need to keep moving forward.

Being young does not mean having no struggles. Sometimes, being young means carrying big dreams while still trying to understand yourself and your place in the world.

Building My Own Identity

I don’t want to be defined by only one title.

I am an English Literature student.

I am a UI/UX designer.

I am a digital marketer.

I am an article and blog writer.

And most importantly, I am a young woman trying to build something meaningful with the opportunities and skills I have.

My different fields may seem unrelated at first, but together they create my identity.

Literature teaches me to understand people.
Writing helps me communicate with them.
UI/UX helps me design for them.
Digital marketing helps me reach them.

That is the connection between everything I am learning.

My Dream for the Future

My goal is to continue developing myself professionally and become a successful independent professional in the digital industry.

I want to work with clients from different parts of the world, build meaningful UI/UX projects, create valuable content, and use digital marketing to help businesses grow.

I also want to prove something to myself:

That where you come from does not have to determine where you can go.

Coming from Sheikhupura does not make my dreams smaller.

Being a young girl does not make my ambitions unrealistic.

And struggling today does not mean I will struggle forever.

Every skill I learn, every project I complete, every article I write, and every mistake I make is becoming part of the person I am building.

Still Becoming

I am not writing this article as someone who has already achieved everything.

I am writing it as someone who is still becoming.

I am still learning.
Still experimenting.
Still building my portfolio.
Still looking for opportunities.
Still discovering my strengths.
Still making mistakes.
Still dreaming.

And perhaps that is the most honest part of my story.

My journey is not a success story yet.

It is a story in progress.

From a young girl in Sheikhupura studying English Literature to a growing professional exploring UI/UX design, digital marketing, freelancing, and content writing—I am taking one step at a time.

I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me.

But I know I want to keep going.

Because sometimes, the most beautiful careers are not planned from the beginning.

They are built slowly, through courage, curiosity, struggle, and persistence.

And this is only the beginning of my story.
